Your improved bullets will appear here.

How to use this tool

  1. Type the job title you are applying for.
  2. Paste your resume bullets, one per line, from one job.
  3. Click Improve My Bullets.
  4. Read each rewrite and check it against the truth — fix anything that overstates what you did.
  5. Fill in the bracketed hints with real numbers (for example "by 20%" or "for 50 customers"), then work through the checklist.

Worked example

Worked example: Job title "Customer Support Specialist", bullets "Responsible for handling customer complaints" and "Worked on website updates" → rewrites: "Handled customer complaints — [add a result: e.g. 'by 20%' or 'for 50 customers']" and "Built website updates — [add a result...]". Checklist: 0 of 2 bullets have numbers, 2 of 2 start with action verbs, weak word "responsible" found. Final step: the user replaces the brackets with truth, for example "Handled 40+ customer complaints daily, resolving 95% without escalation".

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this tool invent results for me?

No — and you should not either. Where a bullet lacks a number, the tool adds a bracketed hint telling you to add a real one. Invented numbers can cost you the job if checked.

Why do action verbs matter?

Recruiters scan resumes in seconds. 'Led a team of five' says more than 'responsible for a team' in the same space, and hiring software also matches action verbs to job posts.

How many bullets should each job have?

Usually 3–5 bullets per recent job, each showing one achievement. Older jobs can have fewer. One page for under 10 years of experience is a good rule.

Should I tailor my resume for every job?

Yes, at least lightly: match the skills line and the top bullets to the words in each job post. This tool's checklist reminds you to do that for the title you entered.

Does this work for jobs outside the USA?

Yes. Action verbs, numbers, and specific results work in resumes worldwide. Only formatting norms differ — for example, some countries expect a photo or date of birth, which US resumes do not include.
